Location and Journey
The estate is situated on an exclusive private lane in the hamlet of Budock Vean, South Cornwall. It lies close to Daphne du Maurier’s, famous 'Frenchman’s Creek' and is just a few miles south west of the historic port of Falmouth. Within an easy walk at Helford Passage are a lovely sandy beach and a ferry across the river to the beautiful village of Helford. The Duchy Oyster Farm is to be found in the nearby, picturesque village of Port Navas. Local grocery shopping and a Post Office are available in the village of Mawnan Smith, just over one mile away. Major improvements to the M5 motorway and the A30 expressway have made the car journey even easier with Bristol being a 2 hour drive, the West Midlands 3 hours and the South East 3.5 hours. Recent improvements to the main rail line into Cornwall have also shortened journey times and frequent, fast express train services to Truro are operated by First Great Western and CrossCountry. You can rent a car at Truro station (14 miles) or change onto the ‘Maritime Line’ branch train for the short journey to our local station in Falmouth (4 miles) and rent a car from there. Newquay Cornwall Airport (26 miles) has enjoyed rapid growth and now features numerous UK and European destinations. Private Jets may use Newquay Cornwall Airport or, by arrangement with the Royal Navy, the Culdrose Air Station (8 miles).
